ICTs are everywhere in students’ lives except in the classroom. Students are looking for that active engagement in learning that they can receive from ICT. Some teachers have been brave enough to incorporate this previously only outside school technology into the classrooms and pedagogy frameworks have been adapted because of this.

One of these frameworks is called technological pedagogy and content knowledge (TPACK) framework. The TPACK framework bring together content knowledge, pedagogical knowledge, technology knowledge and the combined output of these knowledges to describe how to use technology, pedagogy and content knowledge to facilitate learning through technology.

In this blog I will examine some aspects of using ICTs in classrooms and discuss how they can be used, the benefits of using them and some of the negative aspects. Hopefully you will know how to use them better or why they should / should not be used.
